Sutton Housing Society has two amazing job opportunities.
Sutton Housing Society is small registered provider (currently) operating within the London Borough of Sutton with just under 500 homes. We focus primarily on providing housing for older people (over 55s).
We are 55 years old this year, which coincides with our core client group – so we have launched and created Celebrating 55… a year-long promotion of 55 customer focussed events, culminating a 55 themed annual general meeting. So far, we have delivered nearly 40 of the events!
We have a friendly staff and client group, newly refurbished / modernised offices, a collaborative and flexible approach to work, as well as a genuine desire to make a difference.
If you are a “people person”, are passionate about providing great services and enthusiastic about working with a predominantly older client group, please take a look at the two roles we have available:
Our Community Engagement Officer role (£24,000 – £26,000) is a fantastic opportunity for you to bring creativity to our (predominantly) older residents. The role ensures the provision of wellbeing activities, events and workshops primarily at our older people schemes. This role also leads on the promotion of our social media communications and digital champions work with residents.
Our Community Housing Assistant role (£19,500 – £22,000) is a great opportunity to work within our small housing team, providing support to two Community Housing Officers and the Community Housing Manager. You will support work relating to our housing waiting list, housing applications and low level rent arrears and deal with initial enquiries to the office, amongst other tasks. You will also work with the Community Engagement Officer supporting work relating to our events and activities.
Working 35 hours a week, we offer 25 days annual holiday excluding bank holidays, together with a holiday purchase scheme of up to 5 additional days a year, a defined contribution pension (with 8% employer’s contribution) , 3 x salary life cover, health cover, professional fees paid and a fully funded training budget.
Please see the job descriptions and application forms below:
The closing date for all applications is 9am on the 25 November 2019.

If you are happy to sit, chat and lend an ear to some of our older residents, we really want to hear from you!
If you can spare as little as 90 minutes every month to help with one of our activities/events, we really want to hear from you!
