Sutton Housing Society wins best charity award

Sutton Housing Society is very proud to be named the winner of the best charity or social enterprise at this year’s Sutton Business Awards, held at Sutton Holiday Inn on 14 June 2019. Sutton Housing Society were also commended for their staff training in the business for training and development category, as well as being shortlisted for best business for customer service.

This year we are Celebrating 55… an initiative to recognise our business being 55 years old that provides homes for people aged 55+. To mark this unique milestone, we are running 55 initiatives throughout the year, many centred around our older residents living in our homes in Sutton.

Sutton Housing Society was founded in 1964 by a local resident Frank Griffiths, who felt strongly about providing sheltered housing for those that were in “distressed circumstances, lonely or of limited means”. Frank wanted to tackle the issue of loneliness and this was his focus throughout his life; we strive to continue this legacy today, by working closely with our residents to combat isolation and loneliness in older people.

Our staff team are committed to ensuring our residents receive a great customer experience; we invest our resources to ensure staff have the knowledge and passion to continue to provide great services to residents. Winning this / these awards is a positive acknowledgement of the hard work and commitment shown by the whole team.
